Not Sure What You Need? Let’s Start With a Conversation
If you’re feeling unsure about your dog’s behaviour, routine, confidence, or wellbeing — you’re not alone.
Many owners contact me not knowing what service they need, only that something doesn’t feel quite right. That’s completely okay.
My approach starts with listening: • What are you struggling with right now?
• What feels overwhelming or confusing?
• What would you like life with your dog to feel like?
You don’t need to have a plan.
You don’t need the “right” language.
You just need to reach out.
Together, we can work out what support is right for you and your dog — at your pace, in your home, without pressure.

I offer a selection of free, supportive checklists to help you at home:

What a Training Journey Can Look Like
Case Study: Roger the Staffie ðū
Tiny Tails Dog Training Chester
At Tiny Tails, every dog and owner has their own story — and it was a real pleasure to meet Angela and her rescue dog Roger, a lovely 5-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier, at one of our community meet & greet sessions at Green Day Café & Golf in Westminster Park.
Angela reached out for friendly guidance around a few areas Roger was finding tricky. Like many rescue dogs, Roger is a wonderful companion but can sometimes feel overwhelmed in busy environments.
The Challenges
Angela explained that Roger can struggle with:
Reliable recall when out on walks
Pulling on the lead towards other dogs
Becoming unsettled on longer car journeys
When Roger pulls suddenly, it can occasionally catch Angela off guard, so improving calm lead walking and engagement is an important goal to help both dog and owner feel more confident and relaxed.
Initial Support & Guidance
During our meet & greet, we chatted through some gentle, practical strategies Angela could begin using straight away.
We discussed:
Building recall foundations in low-distraction environments
Rewarding calm check-ins on walks
Creating positive associations with the car
Using enrichment to help Roger settle during travel
One helpful suggestion was providing Roger with a frozen Kong filled with part of his daily food allowance for longer journeys. This can encourage calm behaviour, reduce stress, and help dogs feel more relaxed in the car.
These small, positive steps can make a big difference when practised consistently and kindly.
Looking Ahead
Roger is a lovely boy with a dedicated owner who wants the very best for him. With patience, consistency and positive reinforcement, there is every reason to feel confident about his progress.
I’m looking forward to hearing how Roger gets on over the coming weeks and would be delighted to continue supporting Angela with one-to-one training if needed.
